In addition to RAID modes 0, 1+spare, 5 and 5+spare, the Quad NAS supports RAID 6 mode for even higher data security. RAID 6 technology allows data to be recovered even when a drive fails during the rebuilding process. NAS systems can be rebuilt automatically without physically replacing a cartridge in RAID modes where a spare drive is utilized. PowerBay NAS also supports 256-bit AES data encryption.
